What To Do
Gwendolyn E. “Gwen” Pulscher, age 92, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018, at a local care center. She was the widow of Kenneth Pulscher. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Rev. Randy Eisenbeisz will officiate. Music will be provided by A.J. Sherrill as organist with Carolyn Gutzmer as soloist. The family is requested to meet by 12:30 p.m. at the chapel on Thursday for a family prayer service.
Visitation will be on Wednesday at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel from 5-7 p.m. and prior to services at the chapel on Thursday.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Active pallbearers will be Gwen’s grandchildren: Jen Pulscher, Greg Pulscher, Laura Pulscher, Naomi Kovash, Mitchell Kovash, Obadiah Pulscher, Isaac Pulscher, Khrystyn Riley-Pulscher, Elijah Pulscher, Andrea Gaede, Jesse Gaede, MeShelle Fox, Stuart Pulscher, Vicky Fischer and Brad Fischer.
Gwen was born on February 2, 1926, in Freeman, SD, to Edward and Charlotte (Eggert) Hoellwarth. She was a 1944 graduate of Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD.
On September 22, 1951, Gwen was united in marriage to Kenneth Pulscher in Sioux Falls. The couple moved to a farm by Bryant, SD, where she was a homemaker and raised their five children. Before retiring in 2006, Gwen was a piano teacher for 30 years, teaching numerous children her love of the piano. She moved to Watertown in 1983, and then entered Watertown Care and Rehab in 2013. Gwen enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and plastic canvas. She loved to color and read. Her special moments were spent with her family. Kenneth passed away in 2014.
Gwen is survived by her children: Rev. William (Linda) Pulscher of TX, Edward (Barb) Pulscher of MN, Frederick Pulscher of CO, Mina (Craig Seppala) Bull and Carl (Irena) Pulscher, both of Watertown; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Duels of Sioux Falls, SD; and one brother-in-law, Donald Boesch of Vermillion, SD.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Donna Boesch.
