Wayne Adams Obituary
Wayne E. Adams, age 95, of Watertown, SD, formerly of Hazel, SD, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020, at Avantara Clark City in Clark, SD. A Public Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel. Rev. Steve Anderson will officiate. The service will also be Live-Streamed on our website.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Wayne was born on November 20, 1924, to William and Kathryn (Weelborg) Adams, in Hazel, SD. After graduating from Hazel High School in 1942, Wayne started farming with his father. On November 20, 1947, he was united in marriage to Stella Stormo in Hazel. The couple continued to farm in the Hazel area his whole life, until moving to Watertown in 1990. Wayne also enjoyed driving bus for Hazel School. Stella preceded Wayne in death on July 19, 2002.
He was a member of 9th Avenue/Cornerstone United Methodist Church. Wayne enjoyed attending WHS Arrows athletics with Stella, where they watched their grandchildren's events. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, yard work and hunting.
Wayne is survived by his children, Wanda (Eric) Struckman and Roger (Betty) Adams, all of Watertown, SD; six grandchildren: Lonnie (Lisa) Struckman, Justin (Tanya) Struckman, Chad (Angela) Struckman, Jason (Trisha) Adams, Amy (Tyler) Thompson and Linsey (Ben) Petrich; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, James (Marie) Adams of Watertown, SD.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella; his parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
