Waneta A. Anderson

Waneta A. Anderson, age 93, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at a local care center.  She was the widow of Palmer "Andy" Anderson. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m.  Pastor Scott Dempster will officiate.  

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

Waneta was born on November 14, 1931, in Canby, MN, to Lawrence and Agnes (Schwartz) Livermore.  She attended school in Canby, MN, and Watertown, SD, graduating from Watertown High School.

On March 2, 1949, Waneta married Palmer “Andy” Anderson, in Canby, MN.  Waneta worked for Midland National Life Insurance Company for several years as the secretary for the vice president of the company. Following her employment with Midland, Waneta began her career of nearly 30 years with the South Dakota Department of Labor Watertown Job Service until her retirement. 

Waneta was a member of First Congregational Church of Christ for many years.  She traveled with Andy to the Vintiques Car Club on Route 66 cross country which she enjoyed. She also enjoyed traveling with her sister Romona all over the country and she was an avid reader of many books. 

Waneta is survived by her son, Lawrence (Elizabeth) Anderson, of Florence, SC; grandson, Jason (Ceci) Anderson, of Chula Vista, CA; great-granddaughter, Madison Anderson, of Chula Vista, CA; one sister, Romona Gibble, of Watertown, SD; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Olson and Beverly Anderson, both of Chaska, MN, DeLaine Tisdale, of Florida; and one brother-in-law, Richard Anderson, of Chanhassen, MN. 

Waneta was preceded in death by her husband, Andy; her parents; one brother, Joey; and several in-laws.
