Walter L Lehtola

Walter LaVerne Lehtola, age, 85, of Frankfort, SD, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at the Redfield Community Memorial Hospital, in Redfield, SD. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Lake Norden, SD. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery in Lake Norden, SD. Walter LaVerne Lehtola, was born on June 13, 1935, in Estelline, SD, to Abner W. and Alice B. (Braaten) Lehtola. He was confirmed at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. On October 4, 1963, he married Charlotte Cramott in Lake Norden, SD. They couple resided in Redfield, SD and were employed by the State School for several years. After retiring they settled in Frankfort, SD, were they were living at the time of his death. Walter was an avid deer hunter, loved photography and traveling. He and Charlotte took a trip every year where they would camp, do some sight- seeing and visit ghost towns. Walter is survived by his wife, Charlotte, of Frankfort, SD; and his brother, Gary Lehtola, of Alburnett, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements by Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel
