Wade Jensen Obituary

Wade Allan Jensen, age 63, of Lake Poinsett, South Dakota, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2026, in Dallas, Texas.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crawford Osthus Funeral Chapel of Arlington.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Lake Preston Lutheran Church in Lake Preston. Military honors will be provided by Badger American Legion Post #260.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service 7:00 PM at the Lake Preston Lutheran Church.

The service will be livestreamed via www.crawfordosthus.com.

Wade was born May 11, 1962, in Lake Preston, South Dakota, to Arden and Elaine (Kropuenske) Jensen. He grew up on the family farm and was the fourth generation of his family to live there before moving full time to Lake Poinsett in 2016.

Wade proudly served in the United States Army from 1981 to 1983, attaining the rank of Specialist (E-4).

On April 12, 1985, Wade married the love of his life, Lori Hasche. Together they created a life centered around family and friends. They especially loved their lake home, fishing off the dock, and sharing coffee outside together each morning. Wade also made it a tradition to take Lori on trips for her birthday. When he passed, they were on their way to Florida enjoy vacation and start making plans for retirement.

In addition to farming, Wade worked in the crop insurance industry for more than 30 years.

Wade was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome. He seemed to be related to or friends with everyone. You rarely saw Wade without seeing his smile or hearing his laugh.

Wade loved his family. He was incredibly proud of his children and treasured his role as Grandpa. His grandchildren knew him as the kind of grandpa who only said no once (sorry, Rachel).

Wade was a lifelong member of North Preston Lutheran Church, where he faithfully served in various board positions over the years. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School when his kids were young. He was active in the Badger American Legion, currently serving as Chaplain and held other roles. He also served on the Hartland Township Board.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of nearly 41 years, Lori Jensen; his children, Ronni Vlaminck and her husband Chuck, Isaac Jensen and his partner Gigi, and Dallas Jensen and his wife Breanna; his beloved grandchildren Rachel, Dylan, and Violet Vlaminck, and Bennett and Brooks Jensen; his brother, Ward Jensen, and sister, Dawn Larsen; and his nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arden Jensen and Elaine (Kropuenske) Jensen Hedberg; his stepfather, Ken Hedberg; his in-laws, Lloyd and Shirley Hasche; his sister-in-law Jackie Jensen; his son, Jay Albert; and his infant granddaughter, Sydney Vlaminck.

Memorial donations may be directed to the North Preston Cemetery.

Wade will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crawford Osthus Funeral Chapel of Arlington.
