Vivian F. Norgaard Bjordahl

Vivian F. Bjordahl, age 96, of De Smet, SD, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at The Neighborhoods at Brookview in Brookings.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Crawford-Osthus/Johnson-Henry Funeral Chapel in Arlington.

Burial will be in the spring of 2026 in Arlington City Cemetery, Arlington, SD.

Vivian Olson Norgaard Bjordahl was born to Joseph and Emma Kalvig on January 11, 1929, and passed away December 6, 2025. She was number 9 of the 12 children born to this union.

Vivian graduated from Lake Preston High School in 1947 and married Arnold Norgaard in 1948.

They farmed by Lake Poinsett and Arlington until Arnold's death in 1977.

In 1980 Vivian married Cecil Bjordahl and they lived in De Smet where she was active in a number of organizations, Vivian was known as the hat lady.

Vivian was preceded in death by 2 husbands, a son Stuart, infant grandson Joseph, stepdaughters Dawn Gunn, Kandace Spencer, stepson Ross Bjordahl, stepson-in-law Bob Jacobson, 11 brothers and sisters, 21 nieces and nephews and a special friend Jim Auson plus the ladies of the Coffee Club that met for over 60 years.

Vivian is survived by son Mark (Kathy) Norgaard and daughter Gail Fike, stepdaughters Mary Beth Jacobson, Cecile (Merle) Wollman, stepson-in-law Joe Spencer and stepdaughter-in-law Pam Bjordahl, nine grandchildren, Regan (Lale) Norgaard, Lindsay (Brian) Chicoine, Matt McDougall, Aaron (Jennifer) Norgaard, Jordan (Ashley) Norgaard, Abbey (Chris) Schlenker, Kelsey (Dean) Ames, Hallie (Ben) Loewy, and Hayden Fike, step-grandchildren, Jim (Carrie) Gunn, Jeff (Sheri) Spencer, Scott (AJ) Jacobson, Kim Jacobson, Brian (Melessa) Vogt. 29 great-Grandchildren and 34 nieces and nephews.
