Terry D. Drenner, age 73, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at a local care center.
A burial will take place at a later date in Atlantic, Iowa. Terry was born on April 7, 1946, to Walter and Glee (Stevenson) Drenner, in Atlantic, Iowa.
He graduated from Omaha Tech High School and graduated from a college in Nebraska with a degree in Radio Broadcasting. Terry was a well-known radio announcer throughout Nebraska, Wyoming and Kansas. In 2014, Terry moved to South Dakota and began working at Lake Area Tech as a Lab Assistant until he sustained an injury.
Terry was a strong advocate for people with disabilities and was always known for helping others. Terry was very proud of living independently despite of his own disability.
He loved talking politics and watching NCIS and Last Man Standing while eating chili and drinking Dr. Pepper.
Terry is survived by his brothers, Jim Drenner of Terrebonne, OR, and George Dustin of Ft. Collins, CO; his sister, Deb (Ron) Turtscher of Ft. Collins, CO; and his niece, Tracy (Jeff ) Popham of Henry, SD, and their family, Sammie Popham and Newt (Taylor) Popham and their children Mason and Maverick.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; one sister, Dee Dunich; and his brothers, Kent and Dick Drenner.
