Terri was born on January 3, 1944, to Lester “Ted” and Johanna (Mulder) Koenders in Castlewood, SD. She attended school in Castlewood and participated in 4H.
On May 29, 1960, she married the love of her life, Merle Bruner. Into this union, three children were born: Tammy, Debbie, and Jeanne. Early in their marriage, they moved to Mankato, MN, and later settled in Watertown, SD. Over the years, Terri worked for Montgomery Ward, Cole Oil, and was an AFLAC associate for many years until retirement. Terri was also a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. Terri and Merle built their home on Lake Kampeska where they cherished time spent with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Terri loved to read, do crossword puzzles, play cards, garden, can vegetables, and make salsa and jerky. Terri was a kind-hearted soul. If someone outside the family found themselves with nowhere to go on a holiday, they were welcome at her table. Terri never wanted to be a bother to anybody; but make no mistake, Terri was feisty, she was funny, and she was strong. She will be greatly missed.
Terri is survived by her children: Tammy (Ken) Anderson of Bryant, SD, Debbie (Dave) Anderson of Bismarck, ND, and Jeanne (Steve) Sheehan of Watertown, SD; along with six grandchildren: Jennifer Jensen (Cole Gilbertson), Jessica (Justin) Walker; Joshua Anderson, Megan Anderson, Robbie (Brooke) Luken, and Parker (Madi) Sheehan; and five great grandchildren.
Terri was preceded in death by her beloved husband Merle; her parents, Ted and Johanna; grandson, Jason Jensen; brother, Bob Koenders; and sister, Erma Horning.
