Terrance L. Hilliard

Terrance Lee "Terry" Hilliard, age 74, of Bryant, SD, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Avantara Care Center in Lake Norden, SD, from Lewy Body Dementia.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Lake Norden, SD. 

Visitation will be at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church on Sunday, May 14, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Burial will be at the Apostolic Cemetery in rural Lake Norden, SD.

Terry was born to ElDon and Velma (Efraimson) Hilliard on August 1, 1948 in Estelline, SD.  He attended Cleveland #3 and graduated from Bryant High School in 1966.  Terry married Cheryl Kaski in Detroit, MI, in 1968.  They raised their family on the farm near Bryant, SD.  He loved farming with his sons, grandsons, and Tim Efraimson and Ryan McDaniels.  Terry was a lifelong member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.  He labored faithfully in behalf of the Christianity for many years.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Hilliard, Bryant, SD; his children: Leah (Stuart) Haug, Bryant, SD, Karen (John) Kopman, Bryant, SD, Roxanne (Ryan) Sarkinen, Buffalo, MN, Stephany (Leonard) Kopman, Bryant, SD, Jesse (Misti) Hilliard, Bryant, SD, Katy (John) Muonio, Waverly, MN, and a daughter-in-law, Anita Halme, Bryant, SD.  He is also survived by one sister, Lizabeth (Lance) Rosenlund, Bryant, SD, and two half-sisters, Bobbi Atkins of OR and Caroline Perrin of WA; 57 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Vance; and a great-grandson, Harlyn Smith.
