Tammy Foster, age 52, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Avera McKenna Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Prayer Service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday.
Tammy was born on May 25, 1972, to Alvin and Judy Nicholson in DeSmet, SD. A proud graduate of DeSmet High School in 1990, Tammy carried her passion for education to South Dakota State University (SDSU), where she furthered her studies and prepared for a life of meaningful work and contribution.
On May 28, 1994, Tammy was united in marriage to Jeffrey Foster, whom she met while working in DeSmet. Professionally, Tammy was known for her friendly demeanor and creative flair, which she brought to every endeavor. Jeff and Tammy owned Express Photo in Watertown for 18 years. In 2007, they purchased Woody's Sports Bar in Watertown. Tammy took great pride in her photography business and enjoyed capturing important memories for so many people. She spent many years at Woody's Sports Bar, where her infectious smile and warm personality made her a favorite among patrons and colleagues alike.
Beyond her professional life, Tammy was deeply involved in her community, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her compassionate nature was evident in the way she cared for her two beloved cats, Koko and Kelly, and in her interactions with everyone she met.
Tammy's legacy is carried on by her cherished step-children, Jordan Foster St. Louis Park, MN, and Kelsi (Brandon) Houge, Watertown, SD; two step-grandchildren, Emma and Bennett Houge; mother-in-law, Jeanette Foster, Estelline, SD; brother-in-law, Todd (Jolynn) Foster, Brookings, SD; sister-in-law, Carla (Tom) Clarke, Estelline, SD; significant other, Chad Struss, Watertown, SD; aunt Betty (Jerry) Ellingson, Lake Preston, SD; three half siblings, Steve (Pam) Nicholson, Stirum, ND, Beth Fromm, Oakes, ND, Kim (Steve) Ketterling, Fargo, ND; and several nieces, nephews, half nieces, half nephews and cousins.
Tammy was preceded in death by her husband Jeff, her parents Alvin and Judy Nicholson, and her father-in-law Ron Foster.
