Steven Scott Sears

Steven Scott Sears, age 72, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026.   Prayer Service will be held on January 9, 2026 at 12: 00 p.m. at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Burial will be held at a later date.

Steven S. Sears was born on January 24, 1953, to Donald and Patricia (Hopkins) Sears, in Watertown, SD.

He attended the University of Minnesota, where he built a foundation for a successful career in advertising.

He was Vice President for Maxfield Palm Cevette and Co; Minneapolis. Later, he opened his own advertising firm and eventually fulfilled lifelong dreams by opening his own restaurant and publishing historical fictions.

Beyond his career, Steven, was a man of many passions. He loved writing, spending time outdoors, cooking and sharing his beloved dogs. His creativity and zest for life touched everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Sears, and siblings Jean Trygstad, Michael Sears, Dione Sears, Diane Bugeja, Lori Sears, and Patrick Sears. He is also survived by 4 nieces and 4 nephews.

He will be deeply missed by family, friends and all whose lives he enriched.
