Steven was born on November 18, 1986, in Watertown, SD, to Kevin and Jill (Peschke) Christofferson. He attended and graduated from the Summit School in the class of 2005. Steven went on to Lake Area Technical Institute where he studied Building Trades. He started working at Benchmark Foam in 2003. Steven was still employed with Benchmark Foam, currently working in Sales.
On July 16, 2011, Steven married his high school sweetheart, Kaitlyn Nietert, at Tacoma Park Place, SD. The couple made their home in Summit, SD, where they started a family together raising three daughters.
Steve brought joy everywhere he went. He was a quiet observer but quick to crack a joke, assign a nickname, or do a perfect impression. Steve’s top priority was always his wife and daughters, their happiness was his biggest concern. Steve’s dependability, knowledge and good nature made him a valued employee at Benchmark Foam.
Steven's talents extended far beyond his professional life. He was a gifted craftsman, avid outdoorsman with his love for hunting and fishing. His selfless nature meant he was always willing to lend his skills to friends and neighbors.
Steven's expertise was not limited to the great outdoors; he was also skilled in the kitchen, especially when it came to the smoker. He always took time to teach his daughters his “tips and tricks.” The family just recently moved into Steven’s dream house, where he would be found looking out the windows for the wildlife. Steven enjoyed cheering for the Minnesota Twins, traveling and spending time with “the crew” and family.
Steven is survived by his wife, Kaitlyn, of Summit, SD; three daughters, Grey, Emery, and Mila; parents, Kevin Christofferson of Summit, SD, Jill Christofferson of Steele, ND; step-mother, Tina Christofferson, of New Effington, SD; sisters, Angela (Jeff) Schoonover, of Steele, ND, Carrie (Derrick) Rauen, of Sioux Falls, SD, and Becky (Amy Klyse) Christofferson, of Sacramento, CA; step-siblings, Ciera (Corey) Schwinger, of Summit, SD, Derrick Redlin, of Bennington, OK, and Reid Redlin of New Effington, SD; grandparents, Jack and Faye Peschke of Sioux Falls, SD; grandma, Sandra Christofferson, of Summit, SD; grandparents-in-law Marvin and Jeri Rasmussen, of Langford, SD; parents-in-law, Jean (Ricky) Cole, Langford, SD, Brian (Mary) Nietert of Hecla, SD; sisters-in-law, Anna (Tim) Plesuk, Fargo, ND, and Charlie (Garth) Sayers, Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
