Sharon L. Herman

Sharon L. Herman, age 47, of Hayti, SD, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at her residence. Memorial Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown. Rev Janet Miller will officiate. 

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Monday, June 15, from 5-7 p.m. Nurse Honor Guard Nightingale tribute will be conducted at 7pm after the visitation. Honorary Urnbearers will be Dmitrix Brownell, Miickel Brownell, Tucker Brownell, Kenley Brownell, Braxton Brownell, Delton Brownell, and Lizzy Herman.

Sharon was born on June 28, 1978, in Watertown, SD, to Ricky and Donna (Markegard) Brownell. She graduated from Watertown High School and attended Lake Area Technical Institute for nursing. After school she went to work for Jenkins Living Center for 23 years. Before she started at Lake Area she had her two children who she absolutely adored, Connor Herman and Trinity Herman. Connor was born April 6, 2004, and Trinity was born February 9, 2006.

Sharon met and spent 11 great years with Travis Klug, the love of her life. They bought an acreage outside of Hayti, where she loved living with all her animals. She loved any and all animals especially her cats, dogs, and cows, her favorite being her highland cow Shaggie Maggie.

She loved going hunting or just going out to shoot for fun, gardening, taking road trips, tanning, or just sitting in the pasture with her cows. She was someone who could sit down with anyone and have a long conversation, she loved talking with people.

Sharon is survived by her children, Connor Herman and Trinity Herman; husband, Travis Klug; her mother, Donna (Dennis) Brownell; her mother in law, Carla Klug; three brothers: Colby (Jessica) Brownell, and Rodney (Kayla) Brownell, Eric Brownell; sister, Chelsea Brownell; uncle, Bernie Brownell and her nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Ricky Brownell; grandparents Don and Ardell Brownell, Dale and Phyllis Markegard
