She then attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1967. She began her teaching career in Kansas City, KS.

The couple moved to a farm in rural Summit, SD, where Sally got a teaching position in South Shore. She worked in the school district for 16 years before retiring in 2006. Sally wasn’t quite ready to end her teaching career so she became a substitute teacher for schools around the Watertown area.
