Rodney had a cattle feeding business and farmed with his family. He served in the National Guard and on the school board. Following retirement, Rodney delivered meals for the 60s plus dining program for many years. He enjoyed being able to provide that service for the people that needed it.
Rodney moved into Silver Plains Assisted Living in 2019. He always said he was living his best life at Silver Plains with Tonya and her crew taking care of him. Rodney enjoyed having morning coffee at Prairie Ag Partners and Boomers, playing cards and games, putting puzzles together, and word find books. He enjoyed following and watching sports, always supporting the Lake Preston Divers, the Huron College Tribe mens Basketball, and pro teams on TV.
Grateful for having sharing his life are son Brandon Karban, daughter Cherrlyn Pickering (Jamey), his grandchildren, Bailey Thooft (Tate), and Payton Pickering, nieces, Shawn Karban, Kosette Vargas, Jeralyn Anderson and Karla Rounseville and families.
