Robyn was born May 25, 1964 in De Smet, South Dakota to George Smith & Mary (Johnston) Baker. She attended school mostly in De Smet, where she graduated high school before studying art at Northern State University.
Artistic, compassionate, intelligent, creative, supportive, and funny are just a few words that scratch the surface of defining Robyn’s character. Tirelessly volunteering her artistic abilities, time, energy and attention to detail to good causes throughout her life, Robyn thrived when given the ability to help anyone. Whether volunteering with SHIINE to assist Americans with disabilities or turning the Kingsbury County Food pantry into the vital community resource it is today, Robyn felt best when helping others.
After reuniting with the love of her life, Don whom she married in 1998, the Flickingers began their married life together in De Smet. In their marriage, Don and Robyn prioritized their faith in Jesus through their actions by opening their hearts and often home to family, community, and animals that needed their help.
Robyn was preceded in death by her parents, George Smith, Ken and Mary Baker, infant brother George Jr. and infant daughter Chassity.
Survivors include her husband Don Flickinger, siblings: Jerry & Corky Smith (Lake Park, Iowa), Tom Smith (Volga, South Dakota), Rita Smith (Annandale, Minnesota), Roxane Aanenson & Dennis Towers (De Smet, South Dakota), as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel of De Smet.
