Robert K. Holborn, age 93, of Watertown, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023, at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Watertown. Pastor Dustin Bartlett will officiate. Music will be provided by Bruce Reinhardt as organist. Military Honors will be conducted following the funeral at the church. They will be performed by Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter #1054, Marine Corps League, Kampeska NE Det. #1079, and Funeral Honors Team of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.
Robert (Bob) was born to George and Florence (Karlmann) Holborn, on November 11, 1929, in Willow Lake, SD, and graduated from high school there in 1947. Bob completed 2 years of service in the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in November of 1953.
Bob returned to Watertown and married Marlene Hansen on June 12, 1958. Their only child, Clark, was born in 1960. Most of Bob’s working years were with International Harvester, where he sold both agricultural equipment and trucks. Bob enjoyed being part of the Watertown community and was a member of the Congregational Church, the local Masonic Organization, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Marine Corps League.
Bob is survived by his son Clark (Jenny), 3 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marlene; parents, George and Florence; and two siblings, George (Jr.) and Lois.
