Robert Henrikson, age 88, of Arlington passed away Friday, September 26, 2025, in Golden Valley, Minnesota.
Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington with Pastor Alyssa Mitchell officiating.
Burial will be in the Arlington City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Military graveside honors will be provided by Edgar L. Herrick Post #42 American Legion of Arlington.
Robert was born October 19, 1936, in Arlington, SD to Henry and Clara (Johnson) Henrikson.
He attended rural school until it closed. He then attended Arlington School. He went to SDSA in Brookings and graduated in 1954. He joined the army for two years and was stationed in Texas, Korea and Colorado then was discharged. He went back to the family farm to work with his dad.
He married Dyleen Severson on November 11, 1961. They farmed until October of 1963. Then they moved to Victorville, CA. He was a district sales manager, so he moved around a lot for his job. To Cerritos, CA, Bismarck, ND, Napa, CA then retired and moved back home to Arlington, SD in 1998. In the winter they would spend 6 months in AZ.
Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, stained glass anything to do with working and having fun outside.
To this union two children were born, Danette Henrikson of Golden Valley, MN and Marlin Henrikson of Golden Valley, MN. Marlin passed in 2015 from ALS.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dyleen, son, Marlin, his parents, Henry and Clara, sister, Stella, brother, Lyle and wife Carolyn, brother-in-law Deleon.
He will be missed by his daughter, Danette, sister, Beverly Bentson, sister-in-law Sandra Severson, family and friends,
