On December 13, 2025, Rita Flohr peacefully passed away in Watertown, SD, surrounded by the loving presence of her husband and family. She was 86 years old.
Rita was born on February 27, 1939, in Britton, South Dakota, and later graduated from Watertown High School in 1957. She lived a life defined by her devoted faith in Jesus, her kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Rita is survived by her husband, Rudy Flohr; her daughter, Sherin Harris of New Underwood, SD; her sister, Kay Stanton of Watertown, SD; and her nephews, Jason Stanton and his family of Watertown, SD, and Jarod Stanton and his family of Half Moon Bay, CA. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Alan Harris, whom she held close in her heart throughout her life.
To all who knew her, Rita was a source of warmth and gentle wisdom. She welcomed everyone with open arms, offering support and love. No matter what challenges life brought, she faced them with grace and a smile.
Rita and Rudy were happily married for 43 years and had a deep love for animals. During their time together, they had six dogs (Kodi, Sadie, Harley, Charlie, Joey, and Cindy) and one mourning dove, Wee Willy.
Rita will be deeply missed, but the memory of her beautiful spirit will continue to guide and comfort those who loved her.
