Ramona (Monie) Lee Keener was born July 17, 1942, to Henry and Mildred (Sherburne) Keener, in Deuel County, SD.
There she attended school in Goodwin, SD.
Upon graduation, she worked for the potato company and later for Oak Valley Farms, retiring in 2008. Monie lived and helped care for her parents on the family farm until 1972, when they moved to Watertown.
Monie spent quality time with her second family of forty years, the Blais' family, and adored each of them. As a child, Monie loved the rodeo. She had several horses, with her favorite being a brown quarter horse named Lady. She enjoyed watching Elvis movies, Mitch Miller, Gene Autry, Jimmy Dean, and Lassie.
One of the fondest memories of Monie was how she loved to go to the gas station and buy a Pepsi, only to put peanuts in it. She enjoyed taking her nieces and nephew to places like the rodeo, the movies and the circus. Monie's love for animals was always very evident as she had numerous birds that she would talk to and they would even talk back to her. She enjoyed her time visiting with friends and family over a cup of coffee, or even several cups. She will be greatly missed by all of her family. Monie is survived by her brother, Henry "Jr" (Linda) Keener of Rockford, MN. Monie was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Grace Ossenfort and Betty Roth; her brother, Roger Keener; and her special friend, Charlie Hofwalt.
