Peter George Weyer was born on July 23, 1926, at Eden, SD, to George and Elizabeth (Tanata) Weyer. He started school south of Eden and later moved north of Roslyn, SD, where he finished grade school and graduated from Roslyn High School in 1944. After graduation he worked on the family farm and helped neighbors with their farming. He then went to work for Banister Engineering serving REA lines until 1948.

Peter was united in marriage to Florence Koslowski on November 7, 1950. They left the farm and moved to Watertown in November of 1951. He worked for Swift & Co. until February of 1952, for Nash-Finch Co. until 1957, and then Engelstad Electric. He wired the hospital and Jenkins Nursing Home and many buildings around Watertown. Peter spent eleven years on the reservation wiring Indian homes around Sisseton, SD. He retired in July of 1988. The couple had moved to Lake Kampeska in 1972.

He was a member of the Elks, Eagles, Knights of Columbus, and Golden Age Club, St. Francis Choir and founding member of Holy Name Church in Watertown, SD and St. Timothy Church in Mesa, AZ. He loved to play pool, and was an avid Twins Fan (until they lost). Peter had a sense of humor and was always ready to tease his friends and especially his grandsons about their Chevy’s. He cherished time with his family and friends. His hobbies included making flags for car antenna’s, crystal Christmas trees and candle holders, macramé lawn chairs and wooden cutouts, birdhouses and tissue holders. He spent a lot of his retirement years at his storage sheds on North Hwy 20, where he also had a garden and orchard. Peter planted 200 seedling pine trees around his property there and watched them grow. He loved to hunt, fish and play cards with family. He spent his winters in Mesa, AZ since 1992.

Peter is survived by his two daughters, Cindy (Larry) Endres and Debby Peterson, both of Watertown, SD; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jennie (Roger) Laframboise of Watertown, SD.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; his daughter, Pamela Borns; his parents; his son-in-law, Stan Peterson; his brother, Eugene Weyer and his sisters, Betty Hauge and Delores Peterson.
