Patricia “Pat” Luken, age 83, of Watertown, SD, passed away on February 1, 2020, at a local care center. She was the widow of Herman Luken. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel. Rev. Sara Nelson will officiate. Music will be provided by A.J. Sherrill as organist with Sara Lundberg as soloist. The family is requested to meet at the chapel by 9:30 for a family prayer service.
Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and also prior to the service at the chapel on Wednesday.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be: Carrie Sharpe, Michelle Frambs, André Saragiotto, Giovanni Saragiotto and Nicholas Schortzmann. Active pallbearers are: Daniel Luken, Robert Luken Jr, Mike Douglas, Kip Milton, Bill Barber and Tom Douglas.
Pat was born November 4, 1936 to Vera (Nelson) and Herman Lundberg at Strandburg, SD.
She was a graduate of Strandburg High School and McKennan Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as an RN at Memorial Hospital. Pat was united in marriage to Herman Luken. She enjoyed time spent with family.
Pat is survived by two sons, Norman (Sue) Luken and Robert Luken, both of Watertown; three daughters, Julie Schortzmann and Shirley Luken, both of Watertown and Theresa (Paulo) Saragiotto of Amparo, Sao Paulo, Brazil; seven grandchildren: Carrie (Weston) Sharpe, Michelle (John) Frambs, Daniel Luken, Nicholas Schortzmann, André Saragiotto, Giovanni Saragiotto and Robert Luken, Jr; six great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Zachary, Caleb, and Arabella Frambs, Jaxson Russell and Raegan Sharpe; one sister, Ardis (Glenn) Barber of Rapid City, SD; five sisters-in-law, Gail Lundberg of Jefferson City, MO, Marsha Lundberg of Strandburg, SD, Jean Lundberg of Loganville, GA, Elsie Young of Watertown, SD and Donna Dailey of Mandan, ND; one brother-in-law, Vern (Audrey) Luken and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents Herman and Vera Lundberg; five brothers: Lonnie, Norman, Orvel, Beverly, and Morris; two sisters: Marjorie Douglas and Bonnie Barnes; and one brother-in-law, Glenn Barber.
