Pamela Messerschmidt Obituary
Pamela A. "Pam" (Mrs. Larry) Messerschmidt, age 55, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016, at a hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Watertown. Pastor Fawn Lamb will officiate. Music will be provided Bruce Reinhardt as pianist and Kurt Engel as soloist.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Burial will be held at a later date. Active pallbearers will be: Bob Pownell, Garrell Pownell, Darrell Pownell, Jack Pownell, Gary Goglin and Derick Pownell.
Pam was born on July 29, 1960, in Huron, SD, to Clinton and Velma (Anderson) Pownell. She graduated from Wolsey High School in 1978 and then attended the Business College in Huron for two years.
On April 2, 2010, Pam was united in marriage to Larry Messerschmidt in Watertown, SD. She was employed at Twin City Die Casting in Watertown for 16 years. At the time of her death, Pam was working at Human Services Agency in Watertown.
She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and a member of DAV Auxiliary. Pam enjoyed traveling to the Black Hills and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Pam is survived by her husband, Larry, of Watertown; her children, Samantha Dunn (Special friend Sam Brown) and Jordan Lorenzen, both of Watertown; her adopted daughter, Crystal Hanson, of Watertown; three grandchildren; her mother, Velma Pownell, of Watertown; four brothers: Garrell (Kay) Pownell, Darrell (Renae) Pownell and Jack Pownell, all of Watertown and Bob (Donna) Pownell of Huron; two sisters, Melva (Duane) Beals, of Wolsey, SD, and Florence Schoon, of Brookings, SD; and a special cousin, Roxy (Gary) Goglin, of Huron.
She was preceded in death by her father.
