Norma “Sue” (Hooker) Griffin, (nickname Suzie Q) passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026 with her daughters by her side in Watertown, SD. Sue was 85 years old and quietly celebrated that milestone with some close family in the Watertown area.
Sue was born in Arizona on March 29, 1941 and raised in Texas. She lived in several different states throughout her life, as her husband was in the military and then later with the FAA. She was an LPN and later worked as a CNA in the skill cared unit at the hospital in Midland, MI.
Sue was a passionate gardener with a true green thumb, having her yard showcased in the Garden Tour in Grand Forks, ND with the Horticulture Society. She won many awards and prizes over the years for her artwork, ceramics and more. She even tried her hand at poetry and was published.
She loved to read and had many hobbies, but her most happy times were spent with her family and pets.
Sue is survived by her two daughters, Tressa Granrud (Jeff Granrud) and Christine Griffin (Tim Wasylow). She also leaves behind her three sisters, Vivian Lawrence, Ellen Ramseepaul and Jeanie Dickson and more cousins than can be named. Sue had many grandchildren and great grandchildren that brought her so much joy.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Griffin (a marriage that lasted 60 years until his passing), her son Danny Griffin and her brother Ronnie Hooker.
Please say a prayer for Sue to help us celebrate her life as she has started her journey to be with our Heavenly Father.
