Nathan A. Peters, age 52, of Florence, SD, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025, at his residence. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Family Worship Center in Watertown. Dan Seppanen will officiate. Music will be provided by Janelle Manzey and Michelle Schutte.
The family took part in a private visitation.
Nathan was born on April 30, 1973, in Baldwin, WI, to Martin Willie Hugo and Joan (Landis) Peters. He was raised in Gray Court, SC, and graduated from East Georgia Road Christian School in Simpsonville, SC, in 1991.
In 1992, Nathan moved to Camp Wood where he met the love of his life, Roberta Pannell Gonzalez. They were married in Barksdale, TX, on July 10, 1993 and recently celebrated 32 years of marriage. Together they had two children and seven grandchildren.
Nathan spent his entire life in construction, beginning at a young age working alongside his father as a carpenter. Throughout his life, he grew as a business owner by opening Peters Insulation, Peters Bounce House Rentals, Dakota Rolloffs and Dry Lake Park and Rec.
He had a profound love for his family, his friends and his Savior in Heaven. When Nathan knew his time on Earth was to be cut short, he grew closer to God and his family. He enjoyed sharing his love of God with anyone who would listen. He worked hard and enjoyed his time at the campground he built from the ground up. In his spare time, he loved playing his bass guitar. Nathan truly made a difference in every life he entered.
Nathan is survived by his wife, Roberta Peters, of Florence, SD; his children, Ricky Gonzalez of Florence, SD, and Megan (Mark) Matteson of Florence, SD; his grandchildren: Mitchell, Gabriel, Cody, Eli, Malachai, Reed and Magnolia-Mae; two loving siblings, Randee Lindahl of Burnsville, MN, and Tony (Lily) Peters of Watertown, SD. He adored his nieces and nephew, Katie (Korey) Mansell of Sumner, WA, Nicole (James) Kalkes of Chaska, MN, and Andrew Lindahl of Chaska, MN; and his great niece and nephews, Kylie, Kooper and Kallen.
He was welcomed in to Heaven by his parents, Martin Willie Hugo and Joan Peters.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nathan’s honor may be made to Access Ministry in Watertown.
