Michael “Mike” J. Goldade, age 65, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at his residence, after a long battle with stomach cancer. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at New Life Evangelical Free Church in Watertown. The family is requested to meet at the church on Thursday by 1:30 p.m. for a family prayer service. Pastor Michael Wallenmeyer will officiate. Music will be provided by New Life Worship Team. The service will be Facebook Live via the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel website.
Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Honorary pallbearers will be: Mike’s co-workers, his church family, and his pinochle group. Active pallbearers will be: Cooper Pendley, Chad Frensko, Kyle Ewer, Zach Ewer, Myron Namken, and Mark Ohnstad.
Mike was born on May 2, 1956, in Mobridge, SD, to Aloysius and Charlotte (TePoel) Goldade. He graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1974, and Lake Area Technical College in 1976.
On March 10, 1979, Mike married Mary Beveridge at the Plateau Chapel in Watertown. The couple made their home in Watertown, where Mike was employed at Chickasha Homes. He was most recently employed at Terex, where he worked until his health forced him to retire.
He was a member of New Life Evangelical Free Church in Watertown. Mike will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, that adored his family. His family was the most important thing to him and he was always looking out for them. He loved ice-cream, and sitting around a big bonfire. Mike enjoyed camping, UTV trail riding, hunting and fishing, and tinkering in his garage.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Mary of Watertown; two daughters, Jennifer (Craig) Pendley of Watertown, and Jessica (Jeremy) Addy of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren; Brooklyn Pendley (fiancée Brady Wright), Cooper Pendley, Raelynn Addy, and Maverick Addy; brothers: Thomas (Renee) Goldade of Ventura, CA, Stan (Connie) Goldade of Bowdle, SD, Gerald (Kathy) Goldade of Aberdeen, SD, Steven (Mary) Goldade of Florence, SD, Ray Goldade of Pierre, SD, David (Barb) Goldade, and Danny (Diane) Goldade, all of Timber Lake, SD, and Robert (Lorissa) Goldade of Aberdeen, SD; sisters: Trish Ewer (fiancé Bruce) of St. Michael, MN, Charlene (Rodney) Werkmeister of Mobridge, SD, and Michelle (Sergio) Saravia of Sioux City, IA.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
