Mary was born May 5, 1921 to Alice (Dore) and Matthew Suttor on their farm south of Waverly, SD.
Mary attended school in Waverly through grade eleven, before graduating from Watertown High School in 1938. She attained a teaching certificate from Notre Dame in Mitchell, SD, prior to becoming a teacher at Munger Country School in Hamlin County.
On November 18, 1943, she married Marcus (Mark) Nicholas Mack.
Soon thereafter, Mark and Mary bought and began working a farm just south of Watertown; where they raised their three children, Karen, Roger, and Rodney.
Mary loved being a homemaker, especially cooking. She also enjoyed her time working as a clerk at the South Dakota Livestock Sales barn.
Mary was a member of the Elks Wives and Widows, Catholic Daughters, Immaculate Conception Church, Saint Luke’s Circle, and co-chaired organizing and serving funeral lunches for many years.
After retiring, Mark and Mary looked forward to family gatherings, pinnacle club, and traveling south to Texas during the winter. They had wonderful friends who greatly enriched their lives.
We are fortunate to have known Mary’s invincible “let’s do it” spirit.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Karen (Dennis) Jones of Sioux Falls; her son, Rod Mack of Aberdeen; and daughter-in-law, Kaye Mack, of Sioux Falls;
grandchildren, Zach Jones, Mason Mack, Sarah (Todd) Fosheim, Marcus Mack, Adam Jones, and Cory Weisenburger; and great grandchildren, Jon, Michael, Joseph, and Nicholas Fosheim, and Kelcie and Kaitlyn Weisenburger.
We pray that Mary has joined her parents, Matt and Alice; her husband, Mark; and son Roger; and daughter in law, Debbie Mack in heaven.
