Marvin N. Trapp, age 85, of Watertown, SD, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Prairie Lakes Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel. Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate.
Visitation will be at the chapel on Friday, prior to the service, starting at 1:00 p.m.
Marvin was born on January 19, 1937, to Irvin and Leona (Fochs) Trapp in Evanston. IL. He attended school in Evanston. The family then moved to Philip, WI, where the family bought a farm and Marvin worked there for awhile. He moved to Chicago, IL and worked at an auto parts store. Barb’s mom owned the bar next door, which is where the two met.
On March 2, 1965, Marvin married Barb in Virginia. Marvin went to work for a trucking company that hauled edible food in Wisconsin, where they made their home for 24 years in a house with no air conditioning. In 2009, they moved to Watertown and retired.
He was a member of Teamsters Union. Marvin enjoyed casino hopping, and watching dirt track racing at Casino Speedway in Watertown. He loved politics, the Minnesota Vikings, and his daughter Susan’s puppy, Sadie.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Barb of Watertown; sons: Mike (Lisa) Koelling of East Troy, WI, Don (Becky) Trapp of Burlington, WI, and Ken (Anne) Trapp of Janesville, WI; daughters: Debbie (Dave) Watson of Trevor, WI, and Susan (Greg) Fell of Watertown; eight grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters.
