Magaretha Prins

Magaretha Louisa Christina Prins, 69, left this earth peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 17, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.

The burial will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Louise was born on May 10, 1955, in Lichtenburg, South Africa, the daughter of Herculaas and Elsie (Malan) Venter. Louise married Leon Prins on October 3, 1981, in Phalaborwa, SA. Where she was a teacher for many years. In 2020, they moved to the United States to follow their children, Petrus and Joe Prins.

Louise enjoyed cooking food for everyone, singing, painting, and sewing. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Lousie lived a life deeply rooted in faith and dedicated to serving Jesus. She was always sharing her love for Jesus with everyone she met.

Louise is survived by her children: Petrus (Lilyta) Prins and Joe (April) Prins along with 3 grandchildren, Kimberly, Amberly, and Sarah Prins; brother: Dawid Venter; sisters: Cecilia Van der Westhuizen, Elsie Erasmus, and Hendrina Wessels; sisters-in-law: Jakkie Venter and Sonet Venter; brothers-in-law: Bill Erasmus and Pieter Van Der Westhuizen

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Johannes Venter.
