Lyonne Hanson Obituary
Lyonne K. Hanson, age 73, of Watertown, SD, formerly Wallace, SD, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at a care center in Watertown surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Pastor Scott Dempster will officiate. Music will be provided by A. J. Sherrill as organist with Judy Everson as soloist. The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Tuesday by 10:00 a.m. for a prayer service.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Burial will be at Telemarken Cemetery, rural Wallace, at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Honorary pallbearers will be Lyonne's grandchildren: Raechel Fleming, Brittnee Miranda, Madison Hanson, Alexa Hanson, Austin Berbereia and Zachary Berbereia.
Active pallbearers will be Derek Maas, Jeff Elmore, Leroy Mack, Andy Mikkelsen, Leon Mack and Marc Mack.
Lyonne was born on November 2, 1942, at Britton, SD, to Paul and Leora (Yelkin) Palm. She graduated from Wallace High School in 1960. Lyonne worked for a short period of time at the bank in Wallace.
On July 10, 1960, Lyonne married Albert G. Hanson, Jr. at Wallace, SD. She studied Cosmetology in California for two years and was a homemaker while raising their three children. Lyonne and Albert divorced in 1973.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Wallace.
Lyonne enjoyed playing Scrabble and Pinochle and visiting with family and friends. She also enjoyed assembling puzzles, watching TV and movies and collecting earrings. Lyonne was a very loving and courageous person. Her outlook on life was always optimistic and everyone loved her smile and sense of humor.
Lyonne is survived by her three children: Kimberly (Robert) Niz of Bakersfield, CA, and Daniel Hanson and Stacey (Joseph) Berbereia all of Visalia, CA; six grandchildren: Raechel Fleming, Brittnee Miranda, Madison Hanson, Alexa Hanson, Austin Berbereia and Zachary Berbereia; three great-grandchildren; three sisters: Dolores (Gary) Maas of Zimmerman, MN, Paula (Leon) Mack of Watertown and Pat (Steve) Mikkelsen of Agar, SD; and several other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son-in-law, Thaddeus Fleming.
