Lowell F. Bach, age 85, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Cornerstone Church in Watertown, SD.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Active pallbearers will be Nathan Bach, Mathew Bach, Michael Bach, Ethan Smith, Solomon Bach, Sammy Bach.

Lowell was born on August 2, 1939, to John Russell and Grace (Kellogg) Bach. He attended Watertown High School, from which he graduated in 1957.

After graduation, Lowell was quick to take up farming alongside his family, a career he would honor for almost the entirety of his life. He was not just a farmer; Lowell was also the dependable truck driver for his brothers. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family.

On April 6, 1963, Lowell married the love of his life, Marilyn Wasland. Together they had five children; Lisa, Kevin, Brad, Renae, and Darin. Together Lowell and Marilyn raised their children in a house full of laughter and love.

Lowell was a dedicated member of the Cornerstone Church. He found joy in the simplicity of fishing with his brothers and enjoyed traveling with Marilyn. Their destinations included locations throughout North America and Europe.

His presence at Watertown athletics events was a constant, cheering on his grandchildren with vigor and unwavering support. Lowell was a friendly face in the crowd, always adorned with a warm smile for his grandchildren. Lowell's endearing habit of assigning nicknames to those around him was a source of much amusement and affection, a unique trait that will be fondly remembered by all who were graced with a moniker.

Lowell is survived by his wife, Marilyn Bach, of Watertown, SD; four children, Kevin (Carrie) Bach, of Watertown, SD; Brad (Terrie) Bach, of Watertown, SD; Renae (Steve) Smith, of Watertown, SD, and Darin (Hally) Bach, of Watertown, SD; grandchildren, Nathan (Lisa Brandriet) Bach, Jennifer (Sheldon) Uthe, Mathew Bach, Michael (Caitlin) Bach, Monica (Bryce) Valberg, Ethan Smith, Brooke (Ethan) Thompson, Solomon (Keegan Campbell) Bach, Sammy Bach, and Siri Bach; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Chloe, James, Taylyn, Brandtly, Casen, Melanie, Aleigha, Everly, Daxton, and Collins; one brother, Dean Bach, of Runnells, IA; one sister, Carol (Nick) Gusso, Sioux Falls, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lisa, and two brothers, Richard and Harlan.
