Lori was born on March 4, 1960 to Darrell and Freda Larson in Tracy, MN. Lori grew up in Lake Norden, SD and was a proud graduate of Hamlin High School in 1978. This is where she cultivated many lifelong friendships and a spirit of community that would characterize her entire life. She continued her education at the University of South Dakota, graduating in 1982 with a degree that would lay the foundation for her career as a Principal Solutions Consultant in the software industry.
She had a particular fondness for the holidays, hosting memorable 4th of July and Christmas celebrations that were the highlight of the year for friends and family alike. Her home was always open, her table always set, and her presence was the heart of every gathering. Lori's selflessness knew no bounds; she was always there for anyone in need, offering a helping hand or a listening ear without a second thought. Beyond her immediate family and friends, Lori's warmth extended to her four-legged friends. Her love for dogs was evident to all who visited her home.
Lori was full of life and enjoyed seeing what the world could offer. Referred to as a "professional vacationer," a testament to her belief in living life to the fullest and finding joy in every day. She always had a vacation or trip planned within days of being done with the last. When not vacationing, she enjoyed reading, relaxing by the lake, boating, watching football, and trips to the casino.
Lori is survived by her loving life partner, Leland Sutton, her children Joshua (Kinsey Mattison) Smith of Minneapolis, MN, and Matthew (Stacy Bromenschenkel) Smith of St. Joseph, MN; her siblings Larry Larson of Port Richey, FL; Karl Larson of Canton, SD; Adina (Michael) Starr of Parker, CO; Daniel (Lorie) Waldner Jr. of Buckley, WA; and Jennifer (Kurt) Huehl of Huron, SD; her step-father Daniel Waldner of Badger, SD; and six grandchildren.
Lori is preceded in death by her parents Darrell Larson and Freda Waldner.
