Funeral services for Linda Grace Olson, 73, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Whitewood Lutheran Church in rural Arlington, South Dakota with Vicar Brad Sanderson officiating. Interment will be in the Lake Whitewood Lutheran Church Cemetery in Arlington, South Dakota on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Family and friends may call at the Johnson-Henry/Crawford-Osthus Funeral Home in Arlington on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Fellowship will follow the services at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington.
Linda went to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 with her family with her at her home near Glenrock, Wyoming.
She was born to Selmer Ronald and Velma Marie (Sapp) Johnson in Ramona, South Dakota on Thursday, August 31, 1950. She graduated from Oldham, South Dakota High School in 1968. She attended General Beadle State College (Dakota State University) in Madison, South Dakota where she received an associate (AA) degree in business. Linda married Dale Royce Olson on February 6, 1971 in Oldham, South Dakota and moved to Glenrock, Wyoming.
There she raised three daughters while working a Meadow Acres Greenhouse for 25 years. Before that she owned Ole’s Pizza Plus in the early 1990’s, where she enjoyed being around the customers and being the after-school hang out place. She enjoyed school sports/activities and followed the girls to all their events. She lived life to the fullest. She loved to travel and her favorite times were family trips to see family. She enjoyed her time traveling with Dale when he was working. During that time, they were able to see places they have always wanted to see and some unexpected places as well. She loved visiting vineyards during their travels. Her favorites were the small family-owned vineyards. She said that her goal was to visit every vineyard in the states.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, of Glenrock; daughters, Daelynn of Glenrock, April of Glenrock, and Josie of Chicago, Illinois; her brothers, Selmer (Jeannine) Johnson of Madison and James Johnson of Lake Preston, South Dakota; nieces and nephews, Jason (Sonja) Olson and their kids Gunner and Olivia, Amber (John) Olson and their kids Aatelaya and Gabriel, Jordan Olson, Joseph (Holly) Olson and their son Matthew, Jake (Amy) Anderson and their daughter Ella, Sam (Natae) Johnson and their daughters, Mila and Koralie, Ben Johnson, Sophia (Tanner) Vining and their kids Tucker and Lena; and sons and daughters adopted by love.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Velma Johnson; sister, Bonnie; father and mother-in-law, Ray and Shirley Olson; nephew, Justin Olson; and sister-in-law, Linda Johnson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jake Anderson, Jason Olson, Jordan Olson, Joseph Olson, Amber Olson, Sam Johnson, Ben Johnson, and Sophia Johnson.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Hazel Suedes, Lynda Evans, and Trent Chapman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Glenrock Senior Citizen Center, P.O. Box 783, Glenrock, Wyoming 82637, Central Wyoming Hospice, 809 South Ninth Street, Douglas, Wyoming 82633, or Plant a Tree.
