Kim A. Marotz

Kim A. Marotz, age 69, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025 in Sioux Falls.  Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at CrawfordOsthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown.  Pastor Scott Dempster will officiate.  Music will be provided by Damian Marchand and Ashlyn Marchand.  The family is requested to meet at the chapel on Thursday by 12:30 for a prayer service.

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Wednesday from 5 - 7 p.m. and prior to services at the chapel on Thursday.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Active pallbearers will be Owen Spartz, Devin Stricherz, Tate Stricherz, Connor Stricherz, Noah Spartz and Mitchell Curtis.

Kim was born on June 16, 1955, in Watertown, SD, to Robert and Ruth (McGurk) Olson. She attended Watertown High School and graduated in 1973.

On November 24, 1974, Kim married Mark Marotz in Watertown, SD.  Kim did home daycare for sixteen years until all her children were in school.  She later went on to work at Midcom where she worked for fifteen years.  Kim retired from Premier Bankcard after working there for twenty two years.

Kim enjoyed spending time at the casino, attending her grandchildren’s, nieces and nephews sporting and school events.  She loved her family gatherings and was known to be the first to arrive and the last to leave.  Kim has been the bearer of many hats, for many different people. She was the glue to their family.  She truly loved them all.

Kim is survived by her husband, Mark, of Watertown; one daughter, Tara Reihe (Tyler Miller), of Watertown; two sons, Scott (Tara) Marotz, Big Lake, MN, Lee Marotz, Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren; six adopted grandchildren; one great-grandson; four sisters, Bonnie Nichols, Watertown, SD, Barb (Joe) West, Watertown, SD, Karla West, Thomas, SD, Robin Hall, Watertown, SD; mother in law, Alice Marotz; one sister in law, Lissa Marotz, Rapid City, SD; two brothers in law, Mike (Vickie) Marotz, Watertown, SD, and Jim (Jill) Marotz, Rapid City, SD.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Olson, one brother, Russell, one sister, Lorrie Stricherz, one infant brother, three brothers in law, Steve Marotz, Robert Nichols, Myron West, and father in law LaVerne Marotz.
