Karen was born on September 7, 1941, in Milbank, South Dakota, to Edward “Ed” Ramsey and Gudrun (Lokken) Ramsey. She grew up in the Britton area and graduated from Britton High School. On July 24, 1965, she married Joseph “Joe” Moeller at First Lutheran Church in Britton. Together they built a life in Watertown and shared many years of marriage before Joe’s passing.
Karen began her career at the ASCS office and later worked at several jobs in Watertown before finding her long-term career with First Dakota Title Company as a Title Closing Processor. She dedicated many years of service before retiring in 2015.
She was a faithful member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. Karen also worked alongside her husband for many years at Casino Speedway. She enjoyed reading and carefully kept a record of the books she completed. She also enjoyed completing crossword puzzles. Karen loved spending time outdoors and valued her independence, preferring a quiet life and taking care of things herself. Most of all, she treasured the time she spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Tracey (Todd) Swenson of Watertown, SD; her grandchildren, Brandon (Kelsea) Swenson and Bradey (Kyndal) Swenson; five great-grandchildren, Liam, Alicyn, Makynzie, Pryce, and Chevelle; her brother, Terry (Amy) Ramsey of Aberdeen, SD; and her sisters, Jan (Larry) Honeycutt of Lancaster, SC; Diana Haaland of Aberdeen, SD; Anita (Dave) Nelson of Langford, SD; Susan Johnson of Florence, SC; and Sandra (Dave) Durfee of Redfield, SD; and her loving dog Molli.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents, Edward and Gudrun Ramsey; her brother, Dennis Ramsey; her sister, Audrey; and her uncle, Joe Ramsey.
Blessed be her memory.
