Karen Ann Domonoske Brandriet was born July 2nd, 1947, in Watertown, South Dakota, to Shadow and Allegra Domonoske. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1965 and then attended the University of South Dakota. On September 23rd, 1967, she married David Brandriet in Vermillion, South Dakota, and shortly thereafter, they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where they resided until 1981. While living in Minneapolis, Karen worked for the Bell Telephone Company. She also became the proud mother of Gregory and Heidi. In June of 1981, they moved back to Watertown, and she was blessed with Nicholas in 1982. Karen began working for a group of orthopaedic surgeons in Watertown, from which she retired in June of 2021. She was a board member of the Watertown Community Concert Association and also played the flute in the Watertown City Band for many years. Karen was a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi Epsilon Chapter, a board member of the Arrow Education Foundation, and a member of the Watertown Plan Commission. She used her piano talent to entertain residents at the High Rise and other places throughout Watertown. As a senior in high school, she was asked to accompany the South Dakota All-State Chorus and Orchestra to play both the piano and the organ, much to the surprise of her parents. Karen was an avid Arrows fan, attending numerous football and basketball games.
Karen is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dave; her children Greg (Cori), Heidi, and Nick; her grandchildren, Willem and Leo; her sister, Sue (Alan) Pearson; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws.
