Judith "Judy" M. Hagen, age 83, of Watertown, SD, formerly of Wallace, SD, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the local hospital. She was the widow of Larry D. Hagen. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Wallace, SD. Pastor Bobby Postal will officiate. Music will be provided by A.J. Sherrill as organist.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Monday.
Burial will be at St. Pauli Cemetery, rural Wallace, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be Judy’s great-grandchildren, friends: Lavern and Rose Schmig, and Janice Johnson. Active pallbearers will be Judy’s grandsons, Aeron Maurbjorn, Ross Dale, Josh Dale, Andy Dale, Anthony Griepp, and Chris Renmoe.
Judy was born on March 25, 1942, in Watertown, SD, to Lester and Geraldine (Butts) Haase. She attended school at Moritz School in Gary, SD, Watertown Junior and Senior High School, and graduated from Bradley High School.
On May 27, 1961, Judy married Larry D. Hagen at St. Pauli Lutheran Church in Wallace, SD. In 1963, Larry and Judy started farming where they raised three wonderful children. Following retirement, the couple wintered in Lake Havasu City, AZ, for 12 years. They celebrated 55 years together.
She held several offices as a member of St. Pauli Lutheran Church, Calvary Lutheran Ladies Aide, Codington Clark Porkettes, and worked for the US Census.
Judy loved to bake, garden, canning, crocheting, playing cards, and fishing.
Judy is survived by her two daughters, Laurie (Larry) Griepp, of Watertown, and Linda (Mike) Dale, of Webster; one son, Scot (Olive) Hagen, of Estelline; five grandchildren, Aeron Maurbjorn, Ross Dale, Josh Dale, Andy Dale, and Anthony Griepp; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, Jerry (Glorene) Haase, of Sioux Falls; four sisters, Skip Meisenhimer, of Watertown, Donna Tigner, of St. Francis, MN, Jan Lefler, of CO, and Doreen (Philip) Lovick, of Phenix, AZ; and one brother-in-law, Merlin Hagen.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents, Lester and Geraldine; two sisters-in-law, Mary Beth Hagen and Barbara Hagen; four brothers-in-law, Gene Lefler, Clifford Tigner, Alvin Meisenheimer, Harlan Hagen; two nephews, Lynnal Meisenheimer, William “Bill” Hagen.; and one niece, Sandy Meisenheimer.
