Joyce M. Wilson, age 83, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, in Aberdeen, SD. She was the widow of Donald Wilson. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Cornerstone United Methodist Church. Rev. Steve Anderson and Pastor Luke Smith will officiate. Music will be provided by Daniel Tsukamoto as organist with Brandon Trupe and Jackie Wettestad as vocalists. The service will be Live-Streamed on the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel website. The family is requested to meet at the church by 10:30 for a family prayer service.
Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel on Sunday from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Burial will be at Lorinda Cemetery in Henry, SD. Honorary pallbearers are: Randy Reed, Peyton Reed, and Joyce’s great-grandkids: Noah, Chase, Miley, Kendra, Autumn, Kylee, Austin, Alex and Nathan. Active pallbearers will be: Chad Coon, Victor Weigel, David Green, Don Kissner, Billy Pickles and Bill Cunningham.
Joyce was born on June 28, 1939, to Glen and Emma (Larson) Reed, in Henry, SD. She attended school in Henry through the 11th grade. She worked at a grocery store and rode in the truck with her father. She met Donald thru her father’s trucking. They were married on June 28, 1957, and she lived her life as a trucker’s wife. They moved to Watertown in 1976 and she retired in 2003-2004. She then worked side jobs doing house cleaning and pedicures. She was a member of the widows clubs, and support groups. She enjoyed playing cards, baking buns, cookies, banana bread and cakes. She was a social butterfly.
Joyce is survived by her children, Deborah (Billy) Green of Redfield, SD and Dwayne (Cheryl) Wilson of Watertown, SD; four grandchildren: Tracy Green, Billie Jo Green, Brittney Green and Kati Green; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; one sister, Marla (Harlan) Coon of Webster, SD and one sister-in-law, Rickie Reed of Portland, OR.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brother, Leroy Reed, her grandson, Greg Green, and one great-granddaughter, Emma Green.
The family prefers memorials to the Prairie Lakes Cancer Center.
