Jerry A. Greenough, age 65, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate. The funeral service will be live streamed via our website.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday from 12-1:30 p.m.
Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Fayette, IA at a later time.
Jerry was born on June 6, 1958, in Louisville, KY, to Elvin and Mary Elizabeth (Kirk) Greenough. He graduated from Washington High School in 1976. He entered the US Army from 1976-1978. He worked in multiple factories in Iowa. He also worked with his father in the towing and mechanical work area. He worked in Texas with brother in law Rick doing roofing, and then moved to Las Vegas and worked at IHOP. Then he was working for Lowes in Seattle. He relocated to North Dakota in 2003 and met his wife in 2005.
On August 10, 2013, Jerry married Paulette in Watertown. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting shot glasses and TAZ. He enjoyed his family and spending time with them especially his grand-children. He also enjoyed watching golf and basketball, he loved telling tall tales.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Paulette, of Watertown; two daughters, Piper Greenough, Watertown, SD, Liberty (Zachary) Shepherd, Watertown, SD; one twin sister, Terry Ditmar, Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren, Nova Greenough-Frevert and Dalton Sholes; one sister, Deborah Greenough, Cedar Rapids, IA; one step sister, Diana (Rick ) Parker, Conroe, TX; mother in law, Laura Godes, Watertown, SD; two nieces, Anna (TJ) Zimmerman, Fergus Falls, MN, Niani Perry, Kansas City, MO; one nephew, Matthew (Cody) Lawson, Chattanooga, TN and several other nieces and nephews.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Elvin and Mary; three sisters, Beverly Greenough, Barbara Rahe, Donna Conrad; father in law, Giles Godes.
