Jerome B. Feyereisen, age 90, of Watertown, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Holy Name Catholic Church, Watertown, SD. Father John Fischer will be the celebrant. The funeral mass will be live-streamed and recorded via our website.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown, SD.
Jerome was born on May 15, 1936, in Codington County, Kranzburg, to Julius G. and Martha J. (Vonderharr) Feyereisen. He attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from Waverly High School in 1954.
Following graduation, Jerome began his working career with Hansen Elevator in Kranzburg. Afterward he was employed by Top Crop, later known as Ag Fertilizer, and Hesco. He also proudly served in the National Guard.
On January 19, 1973, Jerome was united in marriage to Betty L. Anderson at Immaculate Conception Church. Following their marriage, they made their home in Watertown, where they built a life together and raised their family.
After years of employment, Jerome retired due to health issues. In 1999, he received a life-changing kidney transplant, for which he was deeply grateful. Through the years, he faced health challenges with courage and determination.
Jerome was a faithful member of Holy Name Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, gardening, going to the races, and spending time visiting with friends and family. He especially treasured the moments shared with his loved ones and was known for his friendly nature and willingness to visit with anyone.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of more than 53 years, Betty of Watertown; his children, Cindy of Brandon and Jerald of Aberdeen; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Gustafson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Martha Feyereisen; his sisters and brothers-in-law, JoAnn and Vincent Ries, Coletta and Edward “Smiley” Buchholz and John Gustafson.
