Jeffrey Hershman

Jeffrey "Jeff" Hershman, age 66, a resident of Watertown, SD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in the comfort of his own home, following a valiant battle with a respiratory illness. Throughout his journey, he displayed unwavering strength and resilience, exemplifying his indomitable spirit.

Funeral services to celebrate Jeff's life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Maloy Loof, Chris Loof, Paul Rosenlund, Zach Rosenlund, Taylor Hershman, and Justin Halajian.

Born on May 19, 1957, in Biloxi, MS, to parents Clifford and Darlene (Waack) Hershman. Jeff attended high school in Huron, SD. He then graduated from LATI in 1988, with a degree in Automotive Mechanics.

On April 26, 1986, Jeff united in matrimony with Vicki Keintz in Watertown, SD. Jeff's career path led him through various jobs. He dedicated 15 years of his life to the maintenance department at Harmony Hill before joining Codington County's maintenance team, where he faithfully served until his retirement in May of 2020.

Jeff found immense joy in a multitude of activities, including hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and storm chasing. A dedicated Minnesota Twins baseball fan, he also had an insatiable passion for road trips and attending concerts alongside his beloved wife. Most of all, he cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren, who were the true treasures of his heart.

Left to carry forward his memory and legacy are his loving wife, Vicki of Watertown, SD; his children: Jessica (Brad) Olson of Rapid City, SD, Hilary (Ryan) O’Malley of Rapid City, SD, Casey (Alysa) Hershman of Sioux Falls, SD, Kim (Daniel) Monaghan of Watertown, SD, and Brady Hershman of Watertown, SD; grandchildren Coral, Dylan, Josey, Arlo, Madelynn, Ava, Emmett, Camdyn, Paige, Arieanya, Easton, and Huxley; his brother, Garry (Sherri) Hershman of Sioux Falls, SD; and his sister-in-law, Teresa (Paul) Rosenlund of Delano, MN.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Albert and Bertha Waack; in-laws Verlyn and Debra Keintz; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Weiers and Mary Keintz.
