Good Morning Family and Friends,
Thank you for coming to my celebration of life, or farewell party, or last rites, or whatever you choose to call it.
My perspective on life as we knew it has already changed so much it’s difficult to relate, but bear with me.
First a few facts: I was born to Myron and Alice Resen on February 19, 1953, the fourth of five children. I recommend rural living for child development. What I didn’t expect was that it would qualify me for hundreds of hours on one of Wally’s tractors later. My first twelve years of schooling happened in South Shore, SD. Our church was St. John’s Lutheran of Mazeppa Township, rural Summit, SD.
I studied radiology and related subjects in Watertown and other regional locales, decorated quite a few cakes, and enjoyed a pet rabbit most of that time.
Wally finally proposed and we married September 7, 1974. We lived in Watertown where l worked in healthcare for 33+ years. After my retirement we moved to the southern Black Hills, a dream come true. I took hundreds of photos of various and sundry wildlife, cloud formations, and Wally’s landscaping, sending them to many of you.
We’ve been attending St. Paul’s Lutheran in Rapid City for 15+ years, and enjoying the fellowship there.
My departure was preceded by my parents Mike and Allie; two sisters, Ramona and Patricia; a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. These are the more fortunate ones.
Left behind are my husband Wally; two siblings, Maynard (Sondra) and Peggy (Allan); sister-in-law LaVonne (John); and five nieces Melissa, Kristine, Valerie, Cheryl, and Amy.
Turning 70 years old brought the onset of acute myeloid leukemia, through which my Lord and Savior Jesus was my constant companion. Now those who preceded me and I are the fortunate ones. My eyes had not seen nor had I imagined what’s been prepared for us. I encourage you to initiate, strengthen, or renew your relationship with Jesus who told us He is the only way to heaven. It would be great to see you again.
