Jason M. Guyer, age 33, of Watertown, SD, formerly of Lapeer, MI, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the local hospital.
Jason Michael Guyer was welcomed in to the world on January 27, 1991, by his mother Tina (Guyer) Haneline.
Jason graduated from Lapeer Community Schools. During his time in school, he found a passion for football and played throughout elementary, middle and high school. Jason’s love for football started the day he was born, Super Bowl Sunday. In high school, Jason also enjoyed playing soccer.
One of Jason's passions was his love for the great outdoors. Jason caught his first fish on Lake Orion, MI, and found a lifelong passion for it. He was an avid fisherman, finding peace and solace in the quiet moments by the water. In addition, he loved biking, which took him on countless adventures and where he embraced exploring new paths such as riding from Columbiaville, MI to Millington, MI. Jason taught himself how to play guitar at a very young age , the most memorable song he played was Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Lastly, Jason also had love for cooking and politics.
Jason will be remembered by his sister, Kayla Haneline, as the best partner in crime and, her first and forever best friend. As children, Jason and Kayla would spend countless hours mastering video games, playing music, admiring their vast collection of Pokemon cards, or chasing the “Corn Man” for a snack.
Jason loved video games which provided a realm for him to express his competitive spirit and connect with friends, old and new. His online community called him, Bob (aka Bob Kabob), and they describe him as a true leader, warm and welcoming, always fostering relationships that extended beyond the games he played and into day-to-day life, as well as being a true friend who was open-minded and sweet.
Jason cherished the times spent camping with his mother and siblings. These precious moments, surrounded by nature, were where Jason's laughter and happiness shined brightest, creating memories that Tina will hold dear forever. He was her first child and only son.
Eventually, Jason would meet his partner and love of his life, Brittany Robinson, where they would share many ups and downs as well as laughter, pain, tears and joy. Through Jason's love of gaming and music he would go on to teach his daughter, Harmonie Rodriguez, how to play the guitar and introduce her his favorite games. When Jason wasn’t working, most of his time was spent being an amazing dad and partner, where many, many family outings would be experienced creating memories for a lifetime.
Jason's presence was cherished by everyone. Jason’s love, memory and legacy will never be forgotten. Jason was a beckon of light that touched every single soul he encountered and that light will always live on in the heart and memories of those who knew him. The world has lost someone truly amazing, kind, and a gentle heart bigger than any person you'll ever meet. Jason will leave behind a legacy of unforgettable memories, kindness, and friendship.
