Memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown, SD, with Father John Lantsberger as celebrant. The funeral service will be live-streamed and recorded on our website.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Jane Mack of Watertown, SD, (formerly Aberdeen) passed away on January 17, 2026, peacefully surrounded by family. Jane was born in Onida, South Dakota on September 27th, 1947 to Charles and Helen Jean Hoover. She grew up in Onida and graduated from Onida High School before earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Northern State University in 1969.
Jane dedicated more than 40 years to teaching first grade in the Aberdeen Public School system, touching countless lives with her kindness, patience, and passion for education. On July 10, 1971, Jane married Raphael Mack, and together they built a beautiful life in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
Jane was a devoted mother to her three children: Kimberly, Elizabeth, and Jamie. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and loved traveling to visit family. Always up for a shopping trip with her girlfriends, Jane brought joy and laughter to everyone around her. Her warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all.
Jane is survived by her husband, Raphael Mack; her brother, John Hoover (Mary Hoover) of Custer SD, her children, Kimberly (Steven Lustig) of Chester NJ, Elizabeth (Michael Moore) of Woodbury MN, and Jamie (Sherry McNulty-Mack) of Aberdeen SD; and her grandchildren; Austin, Mason, Colton, and Lucy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen Jean Hoover.
Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
