Funeral services for James A. Harrington, age 53, of Watertown, SD will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, Watertown, SD. Rev. Roger Spahr will officiate. James passed away on April 28, 2007 at a hospital in Watertown. Burial, with military graveside rites provided by Codington County Post #17 of the American Legion, will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be: Charles Murray, Roger Ries, Mark Sanden, Alan Hegge, Rodney Blecker, Doug Riley, Scott Campbell, Jim Campbell, Ron Thibodaux, Van Thibodaux, and Cornell Thibodaux. Active pallbearers will be: Milton Cordell, Ted Cordell, Ed Burke, Brian Lipkins, Gene Soupir, Jerry Shepherd, Bernie Cordell, and Randy Peterson. Music will be provided by Lynn Osthus, organist and Jackie Wettestad, soloist. Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, SD on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m and Wednesday preceding services at the church. The family is requested to meet at the church by 9:30 for a prayer service. James was born on December 15, 1953 at New Orleans, LA to Mercedes (Bolden) Joseph. He attended and graduated from Terrebonne High School, Houma, LA in 1973. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1976. James married Sherry L. Campbell on May 15, 1976 at San Diego, CA. He was employed at Enercept Building Systems from 1997 to 2003. James was a member of American Legion. He enjoyed traveling with his family to Bermuda, Orlando, Hawaii, and California. He also enjoyed bowling, umpiring baseball games, fishing, camping and spending time with family. James is survived by his wife, Sherry Harrington of Watertown, SD; one daughter, Kelly L. Harrington also of Watertown; one son, Jeremi Mitchell of San Bernadino, CA; two sisters, Doris J. and her husband, Calvin Castle, and Gayle and her husband, Eddie Celestine, all of Houma, LA. He was preceded in death by his mother, and one sister, Carolyn Thibodaux Lyons.
