Irma Roberts Obituary
Irma L. Roberts, age 84, of Watertown, SD, went to join her Lord on March 2, 2022, at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Watertown. Rev. Iver Possehl will officiate. Music will be provided by Sharon Falk as organist.
Visitation will be at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church prior to the services on Monday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Active pallbearers will be: David Puhl, Dwight Warkenthien, Scott Sather, Corey Sather, Charlie Puhl, Carson Puhl, and Philip Warkenthien.
Irma was born on October 16, 1937, in Roscoe, SD, to Arthur and Anna Heyne. She attended various country schools, and was probably the smartest woman we ever knew. Her family moved to Aberdeen, SD, where she met Charles Roberts. The two were united in marriage on February 26, 1958. They later moved to Watertown.
Irma worked most of her life at various businesses in Watertown. She enjoyed bowling and fishing with her husband. She was an avid reader and seamstress. All of her grandchildren received blankets and pajamas made by Grandma.
She was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church for most of her life. She taught Sunday school when her children were young. Irma had read her Bible many times and had a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior.
Irma is survived by her son, Stephen Roberts, of Omaha, NE; three daughters: Steph (Scott) Sather, of Watertown, Kristi (Dwight) Warkenthien, of Willow Lake, SD, and Heidi (David) Puhl, of Waconia, MN; brother, Alan (Carol) Heyne; grandchildren: Charlie Puhl, Carson Puhl, Shane Sather, Corey Sather, Philip Warkenthien, Megan Warkenthien, Matt Roberts, and Ben Roberts; and one great-grandchild, Maverick Warkenthien.
Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Charles ”Chuck” Roberts, parents, and two sisters.
