Herb was born on May 2, 1964, on Ruislip Station AFB, England to Herbert and Susan Brown. Growing up in an Air Force family they moved around a lot, finally residing in Oldham, SD in 1974. Herb graduated from Oldham HS in 1982. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1985 and was stationed at Nellis AFB, NV, where he began his career in graphic arts. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1989 and continued his lifelong career in graphic arts and printing. Anyone would say he was, “The Best of The Best” at what he did!
On March 28, 1986, Herb married Laurie Molengraaf. Together they raised two beautiful sons (Zak and Dustin). He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but Herb truly cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren! Aside from spending time with family, he enjoyed being out in nature. Whether it was shooting photos, driving down a minimum maintenance road, fishing, or just staring at the sky…Herb LOVED the outdoors. He was always, “Full of Life”.
Herb is survived by his dear friend, Laurie, two sons Zak (Marla), Dustin (Chelsea). Five grandchildren (Colton, Kiley, Marley, Talyn, Oakley). His Mother, whom he cherished, Susan Brown. His four brothers: Lew (Danelle), Matt (Barb), Marc (Susan), Shane (Laurie). Many nieces and nephews who all loved their “Uncle Herbie!”
He was preceded in death by his Father, Herbert L. Brown, his sister, Kathy Reed, and his great nephew, Jade River Jenison.
