Harley W. Buckholtz, age 82, of Yankton, SD, formerly of Watertown, SD, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Human Services Center in Yankton. A visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Clear Lake, SD.
Harley was born on February 8, 1938, to William and Esther (Kilpatrick) Buckholtz, in Clear Lake, SD. He grew up in Clear Lake and graduated from Clear Lake High School. At the age of 17, Harley left Clear Lake and lived for the next twenty years in California, where he was employed in several industries, including Hewlett Packard, Lockhead Aircraft, and Manville Manufacturing. He was employed at Stone Oil Company in Watertown. Harley served in the U.S. Army from 1961 through 1963, when he was Honorably discharged.
He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports on TV, and hunting pheasants was his hobby in the fall. He loved his Classic Car collection and enjoyed keeping them in up to date condition. His favorite times were spent with family, the many gatherings meant a lot to him.
Harley is survived by his sister, Beverly (Merlyn) Strom of Corinth, TX; two brothers, Dale (Jean) Buckholtz of Aberdeen, Maryland, and Wayne (Diana) Buckholtz of Solidota, Alaska; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Lorraine Alstat, Janet (Myron) Schlotte and Shirley (Arlen) Koutz.
