Gayle L. Robertson

Gayle L. Robertson, age 67, of Watertown, SD, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. 

Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown, SD, on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Private family Graveside Services will take place on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Frankfort, SD.

Gayle was born on July 23, 1954, in Slayton, MN, to Emery and Betty (Hegle) Osier.  She attended school in Gettysburg and graduated from Redfield High School.  On September 2, 1972, Gayle married Brian Robertson in Frankfort, SD.  The couple made their home in Watertown where she was a homemaker.  Her house was always spotless and she always made sure that her husband’s clothing was ironed and in perfect condition.

She enjoyed planting flowers every year as well as cooking and baking.  She was known for her chocolate chip cookies that she always made her grandchildren and her homemade buns that she always made for the holidays.  The recipes, to this day, have remained a secret.  Gayle’s pride and joy was her daughter, Lyndsay, and her three grandchildren: Wylie, Nathan and Jaspar.  She always made sure that they had the best of everything and she never missed any of their sporting events.

Gayle is survived by her husband, Brian Robertson of Watertown, SD; her daughter, Lyndsay Robertson of Watertown, SD; her grandchildren: Wylie Bistodeau of Harrisburg, SD, and Nathan Bean and Jaspar Cody, both of Watertown, SD; her brothers, Dan (Marsha) Osier of Gettysburg, SD, and Jim (Deb) Osier of Grand Forks, ND; and her sisters, Sue Solheim of Redfield, SD, and Cheri Robideau of Aberdeen, SD.

She was preceded in death by her son, Seth Robertson; her parents, Emery and Betty Osier; two brothers, Steve and Tom Osier; and her in-laws, Roy and Jane Robertson.
