Gary Rudebusch

Gary A. Rudebusch, age 72, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at his residence. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel on Friday, April 8, 2022, from 4-7 p.m.

Gary was born on June 29, 1949, to Harold and Lois (Nelson) Rudebusch, in Brookings, SD. He was a 1968 graduate of Brookings. On October 3, 1969, Gary was united in marriage to Jan Elverud at Lake Campbell Lutheran Church. He worked for the City of Brookings, Walter Anderson Motor and Dales Alignment. In 1988 Gary started Rudy’s Alignment in Watertown, which he operated until 1995, when he had to close the shop because of health reasons. Gary was a member of the Vintiques Car Club and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Gary is survived by his wife, Jan of Watertown, SD; his children, Rudy (Sheila) Rudebusch of Watertown, SD and Chad (Barbi) Rudebusch of Sioux Falls, SD; 13 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and his brothers, Rick (Donna) Rudebusch of Brookings, and Steve (Terry) Rudebusch of Boise, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and father and mother-in-law.
